Life at Whistable House
The highly experienced nurses and care team at the home encourage each resident to reach their full potential. They do this by having core values within the approach on respect privacy, dignity, kindness and compassion.
Whitstable House offers a variety of different types of care, including dementia, nursing, residential and palliative care. The caring team provide relationship-centred care which emphasises individual life stories from past and present and nurtures new relationships with other residents and care staff.
Inside Whitstable House, residents can enjoy a wealth of different facilities and activities. The home has gardens, bar/café and several lounges for residents to relax and interact with others. Meanwhile, there are varied social activities to suit residents' interests and delicious, nutritious meals.
With over 100 bedrooms spanning across three floors, Whitstable offers care suites for both singles and couples. Each care suite has comfortable seating space for residents to spend quality time with their loved ones, as well as dining spaces and a kitchenette to prepare their meals if they wish.
Furthermore, the care suites provide residents with additional space than standard nursing home bedrooms but ensure the same level of nursing care and support. The home is specially designed for residents to feel at home and gives them peace of mind should there be a change in their care needs in the future.
Opera was the chosen provider of nursing beds for the brand-new care suites where the design team were able to specify beds that encompass the home’s core values. Our Solo Safeside in bespoke Grey Vicenza Oak wood finish add a homely feel yet is an ideal choice for varying resident care needs.
The Solo Safeside can lower down to the ground level of 11cm, making it ultra-safe in the event of a bed fall for vulnerable residents. The bed also raises right up to waist level to assist with on-the-bed care and allows for unrestricted hoist access. The Solo Safeside is a great option for futureproofing resident care needs, thanks to the protective mesh side rails. These provide a soft and safe solution to protect users from falling out of bed, giving the user, family member and carers peace of mind.
The Impulse Hybrid Pressure Care Mattresses were chosen to accompany the Solo SafeSide Nursing Beds. The Impulse Hybrid offers dynamic pressure relief for high-risk users and a step-up, step-down functionality. Combining advanced pressure relief and comfort, the Impulse mattress is a popular choice for care homes with varying resident pressure care needs.
